We caught the train from Florence, then took a taxi from the station to the centre. The visit to the crypt and baptistry were interesting but the cathedral was obviously the highlight. Be prepared for quite a stiff climb up the narrow winding staircases to the two viewing bridges. You are rushed along very rudely by the attendant but fabulous views make it worth it. If possible, spend more than one day here as there is so much to see here away from the crowds.

The Oratorio is a little further away, outside the old town, next to the Basilica of San Francesco. If you were in the cathedral and in the museum .... and are not so interested in sacred art..... Wasn't worth it for me. The rest is absolutely worth seeing and impressive

I find the exchange of the booked ticket for a ticket valid on site unnecessary and anachronistic. What the pre-booking for. You lose time by standing in line unnecessarily. We had to queue for over an hour to go to the Facciatone viewpoint; that was not well managed. You lose a lot of time there. Unfortunately, the ornate baptismal font in the baptistery could hardly be seen because it is being repaired. A price reduction should be granted, since the ticket is quite expensive anyway.
