Take a guided walking tour of Siena and explore this UNESCO World Heritage Site's highlights. Visit the Duomo, also known as the Cathedral of the Assumption, or one of the Contrade Museums when the Duomo is closed on Sunday morning

Start your walking tour at the Duomo, and marvel at this masterpiece of Gothic architecture that contains famous works of art by Michelangelo, Donatello, and Bernini. On Sundays, you'll go instead to one of the Contrade Museums where the memories and trophies of the Palio horse race are preserved. Then, follow the path of the Via Francigena to admire the city's most important buildings and monuments, including the main building of the Monte dei Paschi, the oldest bank in Europe. Pass the beautiful Palazzo Tolomei and get a closer look at one of the finest palaces of the Italian Gothic style. It was a great tour. Our guide was great! Very interesting, passionate and knowledgeable about Siena. We were a small group so that made it easier. The only negative thing was that he gave the tour in English and Italian ( there were 2 Italian tourists). This made the tour 45 minutes longer and we had to wait around for the English version. It was a too long. They need to separate the languages in the tours.

OK but spoilt by two Italians

If the tour is supposed to be in English why did two Italians hijack it and ruin the continuity? It made very difficult for the guide. Also, I put on trousers as it was stated in your instructions that people wearing shorts could not enter the cathedral. In truth there were dozens in there wearing shorts while I was sweltering in trousers. Please get your facts right guys.

The tour was good, and the guide very knowledgeable, but I signed up for a tour in English. It turned out to be a tour in English and Italian. So we had to spend half the time waiting for her to finish in Italian. So instead of a 2 hour tour it was really only 1 hour. If I had know that ahead of time I would not have booked it.
