Full description
Start with hotel pick-up or go to the meeting point to board your vehicle, a shared air-conditioned mini-bus with a tour guide, or private vehicle (with optional guide), according to the option chosen. Kompong Phluk is 30 kilometers south-east of Siem Reap. Visit the pagoda or local market first, then go by motorized boat on a tour of the stilted buildings. See where the people have courageously adapted to some of the most unimaginable conditions, all with a big smile on their faces. Enjoy the beautiful atmosphere in this one-of-a-kind village from the comfort of the boats. The guide, if present, explains the history, culture, and lifestyle of the villagers. The villages are surrounded by mangrove forest. Take an optional side-trip of the flooded forest on a rowing boat, available October to January. The motorboat stops at a small floating cafe, a good place to see the sun go down. After this awe-inspiring experience, you will return to the hotel around 1:30 pm for your own leisure time.

Tour of real (non tourist) market is interesting. The boat to the village is also interesting with the walk around the village on stilts a fascinating glimpse of life there. The break is at a floating restaurant on a lake - when there a lady was being deloused and a bunny hopping about. Worse thing is a poor Lond crocodile is in a very small space ‘for the tourists’ to gawk at. Not acceptable! Hope get your guide tells them that - made everyone in the group sad.

We had Touch as our guide - he was a superstar! At no time did we feel rushed. It was a priveledge to meet and speak with the elders and to be welcomed into their homes. Very authentic and laid back experience - definitely worth doing! Thank you Touch!

It was a wonderful experience to see how they live. The village was dry (because of the current dry season) but then we got to see the structures of the buildings and also could visit a house and a school. What a beautiful moment we shared with these kids. Special thanks to Touch for being such a great guide!! I recommend it :)
