Old style pottery class

This is a nice pottery class. The people that help you are deaf and so a little hard to converse with but by pointing you get there in the end. They use a manual wheel that is run by moving your foot forward and backward on the chain foot- rest. Only thing i would change is for them to provide you with pictures of what they want you to make. instead of choosing depending on what shape the clay forms. Decorating the bowls / cups was good.

Interesting experience, but felt more like a spectator

Great idea to show us tourists how to make some pottery. Our instructor was very friendly, but since he was deaf communication was reduced to him showing us what to do. This makes it hard to understand what we were doing wrong, what we should improve and what areas to focus on. They promise that you will create 5 pieces during the workshop. We did create those pieces, but in reality the instructor is doing all the work while you are mostly just sitting there watching him do it for you. Overall, very friendly people and nice experience.

There was a person in charge for pottery came, and introduced the company and the steps for pottery first. There were some pictures in each step, therefore it was okay if you couldn’t remember all things. Before class, a teacher would demonstrate step by step. After that, the class were started. The teachers are mostly deaf-mute, they taught us hand by hand. It was challenging at first, but later on, we could do it by ourselves, even you were the first time. We had made 5 pieces of work in total that 3 made with teacher, and the other two made by ourselves. And we could chose 1 in 5 pieces of work, and brought it home. We had a great fun in this activity.
