Full description

Escape the bustling and city and enjoy the serene landscape of Cambodia’s countryside. Wander through the ancient ruins and lear nabout the Angkor Temples of Siem Reap. Meet at the Discova Day Tour Shop at 7:15 AM for this full day tour. From here you will be given a helmet and a mountain bike. This is a tour for the entire family. The distance is approximately 30km on flat tracks and quiet roads. For children there are child bikes, baby seats and tag along trailers. Experience Bayon, famous for its Elephant Terrace. These are the famous stone sculptures that make up part of the ancient walled city of Angkor Thom. You can explore this site whilst a delicious traditional lunch is prepared. After lunch you will cycle to Ta Prom, an abandoned Jungle temple and monastery abundant with tree roots and vines. Here you will learn about this historic site from your guide. The remainder of the tour is spent roaming the red dirt tracks and lesser-known ruins of the area. This is a true Cambodian adventure. You will arrive back to Siem Reap at around 3:00 PM.

Tur med Grashopper Adventure på flotte og godt fungerende MBT-cykler. Guiden Chen førte os 6 deltagere ad små veje til de 3 templer. Chen fortalte engageret og på et godt engelsk om Cambodia fortid og nutid. Gav anledning til eftertanke. En skøn dag på cyklen.

Sam ist der beste Guide, den ich auf meiner langen Reise durch SOA hatte: Sehr zugewandt, motivierend, ausgesprochen freundlich, humorvoll und voller fundiertem Detailwissen, sodass er bei der Fahrradtour zu jeder Frage eine Antwort hatte. Die Tour ging auf befahrbaren Wegen durch Siem Reap, „Dschungel“ und Angkor (der Eintrittspreis Ist bei der Tour nicht inklusive). Drei der vielen Tempel wurden intensiver besichtigt (darunter natürlich Angkor Wat) man kommt bei der Strecke eine Ahnung von der Größe des Gebiets, zur Stärkung gab es Früchte, ein gutes Mittagessen und eine wieder auffüllbare Flasche, sodass man kein eigenes Wasser mitbringen muss. Auf unterschiedliche Fahrtüchtigkeiten wurde Rücksicht genommen, trotzdem muss man sich im Klaren sein, dass die Strecke ca. 30 Kilometer beträgt und das Laufen durch die Tempel noch hinzu kommt. Es war eine tolle Tour, die ich gerne noch fortgeführt hätte. Sehr zu empfehlen, um sich zu bewegen und Siem Reap und Angkor kennenzulernen!!!

I couldn't expect anything better than thid. Pat, our tour guide, was really nice and kind, he showed us some hidden paths through the wood where there was no one else. Especially in such a famous attraction it's nice to avoid the crodws and the busy roads. The bikes were really new and comfortable but I would not recommend this tour to someone that is not convinced about his cycling skills. The included lunch was great and during the day Pat was always offering us fresh water. When we got back to the office they welcomed us with some fresh towels and a coconut!
