What to Expect
In the morning you’ll be picked up at your Palermo hotel and head off on a drive to the town of Erice, which is perched on a hill above Trapani in northeastern Sicily.
After arriving in Erice, your driver will show you the old town, and the most important monuments, such as the Castle of Venus, the Pepoli Tower, the Church of San Giuliano, the Convent of the Benedictines, and the Mother Church.
Visit a famous pastry shop, where you’ll have a chance to taste sweets with almonds, that are typical of Erice.
The tour continues on to Marsala, where you’ll visit a famous baglio, an ancient building of Arabic origin that has been converted into a resort with a winery. Admire views of the Egadi Islands.
Visit the wine cellar and sample wines from the property’s private production.
There will be free time for lunch, which can be booked in advance at the winery. Later in the afternoon you’ll return to Palermo.
