Full description
First stop of the Etna Wine Tasting Tour will be the medieval towns of Linguaglossa or Castiglione di Sicilia – depending on the schedule of the Tour. A walk through the historic center of these villages gives you an opportunity to visit the beautiful Cathedral of Linguaglossa, or the majestic Norman castle in Castiglione di Sicilia. Breathe the peaceful life of two of the most beautiful villages at the feet of the Volcano. Breakfast or snacks will be offered to start the day.
Next, you will move on to an Etna winery dating back to the 1980s, and meet an expert sommelier who will introduce you to the world of Etna wines. Learn the story behind the production of each bottle, from pruning to harvesting. Finally, led by the sommelier, you will have the opportunity to taste six different wines, not only from Mount Etna.
Finally, stop at a winery in Linguaglossa where you will meet with a friendly owner and guide. Visit the vineyards, the millstone, walk around the barrels and learn about the tradition of wine production. Here you will be able to taste one red, one white and one rosé wine, all accompanied by a Sicilian lunch. Savor green olives, salami, Sicilian cheese, bread, and the famous pasta dish "alla norma", followed by a delicious dessert.
