What People Are Saying About Sicily

Amazing food, lovely family, stunning location & lots of fun.

We were met on the dot of 10am at the appointed place, then led down a hidden alley to the covered market. Really interesting explanation of the history of the Sicilian diet, some sampling and of course stocking up with key ingredients. A leisurely stroll back through Taormina to a real gem, the cooking class venue - light, bright and airy with a lawn and citrus trees. After coffee we started cooking, everything was very well explained and demonstrated. Mother Francesca was so enthusiastic, with Son, Mimi acting as guide and translator. We succeeded in cooking ourselves a wonderful three course meal - with tasting of Sicilian wine along the way. Highly recommended, just don't plan an active afternoon.

A great way to spend a few hours cooking with a sicilian family

My girlfriend fell in love with caponarta and we cooked it on the course. The time spent with mimo and his family was fun, informative, and very tasty. The fish rolls were amazing.

Amazing experience. Great food and atmosphere

This is a must do if you are any where near Taormina and worth the trip if you're not. A few Italians taking this course -which was telling.

Outstanding! Would do it again in a minute!

Our chef and restaurant owner really knows how to impart "chef secrets" to beginners and advanced cooks, keeping the entire day interesting. Really worth the cost, excellent experience.

interesting insights in sicilian cooking together with pleasant talks

We had an entertaining morning and afternoon with a stroll over the Taormina food market followed by a cooking course and a meal. We liked getting some insights into sicilian cooking and had pleasant talks with the rest of our group - mainly US tourists following the traces of their sicilian ancestors. Why do we give 4 stars instead of 5 ? Because we experienced some unnecessary service issues: we had to ask for forks, some more water and wine, had to wait until we could begin with the starter getting cold because of missing freshly baked bread, had to ask for the recipes which were sent afterwards per email, got a nicely printed certificate of attentance where our names could have been filled in and would have loved to be offered an espresso after the meal ...
