Sichuan: Big Panda Volunteer Day tour

Such a wonderful experience. The pandas are absolutely beautiful and we feel so privileged to have met them. Joseph at the Panda Base was great- so funny, caring and knowledgeable about the Pandas. He took all measures to ensure that we were safe but that we had a great time too! The work we assisted with was quite challenging at times but as we are not adverse to hard work, we relished it. I actually enjoyed being so active as I don't get to do much manual work any more. I would highly recommend this activity to anyone visiting or living in China. For us, it was worth every penny and more (I cried leaving!) Joseph was an absolute pleasure to meet and work with. Our driver Mark was always punctual and very funny to talk with! If booking I would also strongly recommend that you purchase the Panda cub photo opportunity, to me this was the highlight! No touching/cuddling the cubs so totally ethical. We also received two beautiful certificates. A highly rewarding experience! 10/10

The Panda center is located in an amazing environment, where green is the master! Pandas have their own cage and garden, yes they are in captivity, but it seems they are very happy. The volunteer experience was really beautiful and I’m proud have been able to help the center with my work and my money. Daniel my guide, very good English speaking, picked me up and dropped me off at my hotel. He has been by my side the whole day, working with me and take pictures for me. In the center there are many tourists, but not noisy. You can also see red pandas. Beautiful experience.
