Meet your guide at Diocletian’s Palace, an incredible UNESCO World Heritage-listed site. This two-part tour gives you the best of the area in just a half day. Soak up the atmosphere of this most unique site and then stroll the streets, passing by the Cathedral of St. Duje, the patron saint of Split, as well as linger in atmospheric Peristyle Square. Finally, hit nearby Split Market to see the colorful fruits and vegetables on offer. Later, board an air-conditioned minibus for the drive up the coast to Trogir for the 17-mile (28 kilometer) drive. The most famous sight of Šibenik is undoubtedly the UNESCO-protected St. Jacob's cathedral, following which you can choose to walk around the stoned streets, buy some souvenirs, and enjoy a coffee on Riva Promenade. Your next stop is Zadar, the oldest continually inhabited city in Croatia. Evidence of human settlement there stretches all the way back to the 4th century B.C. This history passes through tribal, Greek, Roman, Venetian, and Italian rule, before its modern situation as a part of Croatia. Check out several historic monuments from the medieval and Renaissance periods, in addition to contemporary constructions such as the world's first sea organ. Once your busy day sightseeing comes to a close, your tour concludes with your guide returning you to your accommodation.
