Imagine a serene morning in Sharm el-Sheikh, where, at the agreed time, our bus will arrive at your hotel to begin an exciting adventure into the heart of the Sinai Peninsula. The two-and-a-half-hour journey will take us through desert landscapes that gradually transform into majestic mountains, setting the stage for the thrilling night trek that awaits us.
Equipped with comfortable footwear and the necessary determination, we will begin the ascent of the 750 steps leading to the summit of Mount Sinai. Step by step, we’ll draw closer to an awe-inspiring sunrise in a place steeped in history and spirituality, where, according to tradition, Moses received the Ten Commandments.
Upon reaching the summit and taking in the majestic sunrise, we will start our descent, during which we will replenish our energy with the breakfast provided by your hotel. Next, we will head to Saint Catherine’s Monastery, a spiritual haven that has endured since the 6th century, surrounded by imposing walls and declared a World Heritage Site. Inside the monastery, we will explore the Basilica of the Transfiguration, a gem of Christian-Orthodox art, and discover one of the most valuable collections of codices in the world, second only to the Vatican Archives.
In addition to touring the interior of the monastery, we will visit the legendary Burning Bush and the well where Moses met his wife, immersing ourselves in the rich history of this sacred place.
Important Note: The ascent to Saint Catherine’s Monastery requires climbing 750 steps, so it is recommended to bring water, comfortable footwear, and suitable clothing. On Sundays and Fridays the monastery is closed, preventing access to its interior on that day. You will need to ask your hotel to prepare a breakfast picnic box for you, as this is not included in the excursion price.
