What to Expect
A 50-minute flight from the Sinai resort town of Sharm el-Sheikh brings you to Luxor and back in time to Thebes, where we will show you some of the most fascinating remnants of the ancient world.

We pick you up at your hotel and take you to the airport. Your English-speaking guide will be waiting to show you around the temples and tombs of the pharaohs.

The West Bank of the Nile here is known as the city of dead. It includes the Valley of the Kings, an ancient royal cemetery hidden in the mountains. The tour includes entry to 3 of the more than 60 registered tombs.

All the tombs were pillaged in antiquity except that of Tutankhamun, rediscovered in 1922. You must purchase an additional ticket to visit this or the tomb of Ramses 6.

The unique mortuary temple of Hatshepsut is the only temple in Egypt built into a cliff face in a terraced style. Hatsheptsut was a female pharaoh who wore a false beard and all the trappings of the male pharaohs in order to claim the throne.

The Colossi of Memnon are the only remains left standing from the mortuary temple of Amenhotep III, which was destroyed in an earthquake. These quartz monoliths show the pharaoh sitting on his throne.

Following lunch at a local restaurant, we head to the other side of the river and the
Karnak temple complex, the largest in ancient Egypt. It covers 62 acres, more than 250,000 m¬2, and was in use for 1,700 years. The main area was dedicated to Amun-Ra, the sun god.

Even with so much to see, you will have time to shop in the markets of Luxor. At the end of the tour, we fly you back to Sharm and drop you off at your hotel. We offer the tour on Wednesdays and Saturdays.
