The Nabq desert is an excellent place to be explored by mountain bike. On our half-day tour, we explore the area, learn about the environment and take a swim in the sea - all as part of the only eco-friendly tour offered in Sharm el Sheikh.
What to Expect
The wind whips through your hair as you gather speed on your bike. To both sides of you, the beautiful desert scenery spreads out like a postcard. Here, in Sharm el Sheikh, our goal is to provide you with an eco-friendly experience unlike you've ever had before. During our half-day tour together, you will ride through quaint little Bedouin villages, learn about the desert's flora and fauna and even have a dip in the sea!
The day begins with us riding down some lonesome tracks without any traffic or tourists around. You will breathe in the warm desert air as we head through a group of Mangrove trees - the farthest north in this part of the country. As the only eco-friendly tourist program in Sharm el Sheikh, we work hard to teach you about the delicate flora and fauna of this environment, and we even have the chance to view the largest settlement of Arak trees in the region. These trees branches serve often as a toothbrush for the local communities, and have been promoted by the World Health Organization for use by people!
After riding through some dried out riverbeds, we eventually arrive to an absolutely stunning beach. Here, we come across a ship wreck - truly a sight to see in this area - and here we take the time to dip ourselves in the cool, refreshing waters. We will meet here with some local Bedouins, and share tea and bread with them. We pride ourselves on no "touristic" villages - these are the real deal! Bedouins are traditionally divided into tribes or clans, and our friends know the desert like the back of their hand! You will be immediately welcomed in by these resourceful and playful nomads, and will have the chance to share stories and experiences with them - they're often just as interested in you as you will be of them!
