What People Are Saying About Shanghai

Darren is a great guide for Shanghai – I had a great time.

I arranged a private, full-day tour of Shanghai with Darren. He took care of everything including hiring a private driver, buying tickets for the Jade Temple, Oriental Pearl Tower, River Cruise, and fining a great place for lunch. Darren knew exactly what time to reach the Oriental Pearl Tower so that we had no waiting. The air was so clear that day that we had amazing views of the city from the Oriental Pearl Tower. Darren also showed me the back streets of Shanghai to get a feel for not just the commercial side of Shanghai. He also provided both social and cultural history of Shanghai as we toured the city. I especially enjoyed a brief stop at a tea house for tasting. I highly recommend Darren if you are looking for a special day without the crowds of a big tour bus. He will customize your personal tour based on your interests and needs.

Very helpful guiding us through the attractions & streets of Shanghai.

My daughter and I used Pathway Tours two days. The first was the Full Day Best of Shanghai, we visited People's Square, Shanghai Museum, Yu Garden, ate famous Shanghai Soup dumplings for lunch, walked through the shopping bazaar outside the garden (old street), the Jade Buddha Temple, French Concession. The guide moved at our pace, and was invaluable to pointing out interesting things about the city. We bought a three day metro pass (45Y) and mostly road the subways. My one suggestion would be to map out the attractions a little more efficiently. One taxi ride can easily cost 35Y. We learned this on Day 2, on our custom tour of markets. Our guide to help us navigate (by taxi) the local markets. We visited the Fakes Mall, the Bird and Cricket market, the Dongtai Antigue market and the fish market. This is where we ate lunch. We finished the day visiting TianZifang; more of the French Concession. The guide helped a lot negotiating with the locals. We spent 150Y on taxi but less walking.
