I enjoyed having a deep conversation with Jim learning more about China historically and culturally. His vast knowledge is commendable. I am lucky in a sense that I am the only guest in that session so i felt a sense of personal touch just like having a chillax drinking session with friend. My fav part would be the last bar where you can see the beer process in distiller right in front of u. We went there via cab which tbh my 1st experience of riding an electrical car! Also, this is a great tour that deserves more attention from avid drinker and those who wish to know more. It is also an eye opener on how well developed the drinking culture in Shanghai. Comparable with Dublin. Give it a shot! Keep up the great job Jim!

Take a 3-hour craft beer tasting tour around the former French Concession area in Shanghai. Discover 3 of the best breweries Shanghai has to offer and savor 6 glasses of beer. Greet your local guide at the front gate of Langham hotel. Start off your evening by sampling local wheat beer, pale ale, or dark stout at The Brewer, a gastropub in the Xintiandi area. Next, stroll through Shanghai’s Old City and get an intimate glimpse of the residences and alleyways in this most traditional of neighborhoods. Enjoy a delicious treat of Shanghai-style dumplings, such as potstickers or wontons, and receive an introduction to local rice wine in a traditional liquor store with your guide. A 15-minute walk through other historic neighborhoods brings you to Sinan Mansions, a set of private villas dating back to the 1920s that have been renovated into an upscale lifestyle destination. Here, find the award-winning Boxing Cat Brewery, and try unique craft pilsners, lagers, stouts, and rotating specials on tap. The tour ends at Shanghai Brewery near Fuxing Park to taste even more craft beers. At the end of the night, your tour guide will help you hail a taxi back to your hotel.

This is the tour for you if you’re aware of the terms ABV and IBU Great Shanghai beer tour with Jim. More food and beer than I expected. Not just a good time but also history along the way and some cultural impromptu detours. I was a bit doubtful about true “craft beer” in Shanghai but now I’m a believer. This 3-hour tour was fun and Jim was fantastic. I highly recommend this tour for anyone who likes beer or something different to do in Shanghai. Be sure to ask for Jim, he is great.
