Taste the famous sherries of Jerez on an 8-hour tour from Seville and visit 2 separate wineries to sample at least 11 wines and 2 brandies. Continue to Sanlúcar de Barrameda for a local lunch and share in the great food and wine cultures of Andalucía.
What to Expect
Explore Jerez de la Frontera and Andalucía through the culture of its food and wine, especially its notable fortified sherry wines, famous throughout the world.
You will be picked up from your accommodation in Seville and transferred to the picturesque town of Jerez, located between the sea and the mountains in the province of Cadiz. Known as the “Sherry Triangle,” explore the main production area for sherry wines, fed by the balmy subtropical-Mediterranean climate.
Visit a winery where the old traditions have been maintained, and the sherry is still produced as it has been for centuries. You will also get to taste some oxidized wines and local brandy.
Continue to Sanlúcar, situated at the mouth of the Guadalquivir River. Visit a 2nd winery, and learn how the river, weather, and soil impact on the taste of the wines. Admire the traditional architecture of Andalucían wineries and the whitewashed houses of the local villages.
Lunch will be held according to a typical Spanish timetable, starting at about 14:00. Wine and dine surrounded by wine casks and the sweet aroma of Spanish food and sherry.
