We met the tour at the beautiful Hotel AlfonsoXIII. Our guide was very pleasant. The only hitch was that despite it being an English tour there were Spanish only Speakers on it. The guide would describe the sites in Spanish first and then English. This slowed everything down. I understand some Spanish but it was still distracting and time consuming. The Aquarium is really outstanding, and the cruise was very relaxing, although it was difficult to hear the announcements. The choices identifying me only allow Portugal, where we first landed. The trip was actually in Seville.
The tour started with tour guide, Lola. Unfortunately she was not the best guide. The group could barely hear her & when we asked her to repeat she became aggravated, agitated and downright nasty. We were in her face trying to hear her & when she finished she walked away which gave us NO TIME to see what she was trying to explain. Headphones for this tour would have been preferable. Our next guide for the remaining portion of the tour was very nice & accommodating. He took his time explaining, showing & pointing out buildings, artifacts, sites, etc.
Our kayak guide (Peter) was great - very friendly and informative. Loved the little extra bits of info and stories that you wouldn't get from a guide book. Our children (aged 11 and 8 years) had great fun - the amount of time spent kayaking was just right for them - although we have all done kayaking before. It may have been a bit trickier if the river was busier. The office had good toilet and changing facilities. We did have to wait around a little for the office to open though, so our tour started slightly later than the official start time.
Con- We were so confused about the meeting place as there’s a restaurant nearby with the same name. Tried calling the tour organizer several times but didn’t an answer. Same with another customer. The description of the meet up was not even in google maps. Pro- Our hostess provided the best service. Very friendly and attentive. Improvement- better if there’s some information on the river and its significance to the people of Sevilla. Also information on surrounding structures as the yacht passes through them.
We enjoyed this daytour, especially in the morning with our guide Melissa. She was so kind to our daughter (3y). She is funny, speaks english very well and we learned a lot about Seville. Plaza d'Espana is marvellous and we also liked the Alcazar. Boattour is the least exciting part, allthough you can relax a bit.
