Heart of the Giant Forest Hike: Congress Trail& Sherman Tree

Heart of the Giant Forest Hike: Congress Trail& Sherman Tree

Enjoy a nice walk through the Giant Forest while we walk down a paved trail to the world’s largest tree, the General Sherman Tree. From there we will walk deeper into the Giant Forest. Along the way we will learn about the wildlife and plants that call this forest their home. Keep a watchful eye for a chance to see some of them in real life. If we are lucky we might even stumble into a black bear or two! This is a private group tour, so only you and up to seven of your people will be the only ones on the tour. We will meet at the Trailhead for the Sherman Tree Trail which is conveniently located next to the restrooms and shuttle stop at the Upper Sherman Parking Lot. This is where our tour will end as well. Leading you on this two hour hike is a professional tour guide who has lived in and worked in Sequoia and Kings Canyon National Parks since 2014. With a degree in wildlife biology and a passed career of chasing black bears out of campgrounds. You will not only have access to over six years of tour guiding and astronomy knowledge but also a wide range of fact, stories, theories and jokes. Mostly puns :) On this tour you are guaranteed to see sequoia trees, birds, squirrels, chipmunks, amazing views and more. Black bears and mule deer are on random occurrences. For our first visit to the Giant Forest I couldn’t be more satisfied with using our guide, Scott. It’s the best way to see something if you have limited time or unfamiliar with the area I feel. No wasted steps!!! Scott was very interesting to talk to and really made an effort to not only show us around but also kept our safety in mind. Wish I could rate this tour higher than a 10/10!! Good job!!

The tour was amazing! Alexis was very personable, kind and considerate! I never felt uncomfortable or like I was just “another tourist”. But Alexis was very genuine and you can tell she has a passion for this job! She even went above and beyond to help me book a Yosemite tour as well when I was having trouble finding an available one from Fresno. Highly recommend!

The tour guide was attentive, knowledgeable and personable. The entire process was seamless from booking to hotel return. We were satisified with the amount of time spent and the choice of sights the tour guide picked. We highly recommend this tour!! Angela, Ashton and Miriam

Alexis was amazing, very knowledgable and super bubbly. Due to the quiet season it was more of a solo tour and Alexis made it feel more like a day out with a friend. Highly recommend!

Very nice time spent with great guide and beautiful surroundings. Highly recommended
