Full description
Experience the Korean cooking and street food culture in Seoul and join an educational session for you or your group. An expert native Korean chef will assist you in learning the culture, ingredients, and how to prepare and create authentic Korean dishes. Begin the tour with a visit to a local market to buy fresh ingredients for the class and taste some local street food at the popular, yet less touristy market in Seoul. Absorb the vibrant atmosphere of the market and with your guide, find the ingredients which are required for the cooking class. After the market tour, head to the venue of your cooking class and learn a few Korean phrases while sipping a delicious welcome drink. Then it's time to make a variety of traditional Korean dishes. Your experienced chef-guide will show you how to make 4 dishes including Bibimbap (mixed rice with meat and vegetables), Dakgalbi (stir-fried chicken), Haemul-Pajeon (seafood and green onion pancake), and Doenjang-Jjigae (fermented soybean paste stew). Then, sit down to a meal and savor the delicious flavors of your creations. Enjoy the unique art of Korean food with a Hanjeongsik, a traditional Korean course meal with more than 10 side dishes which will be provided by your local host along with seasonal fruits and rice wine.

I took the class back in March and I was so happy to book it! Our teacher is lovely, she is curious about our own culture while sharing hers and the walk through the market before the class is such a bonus point. I can’t wait to come back to Korea and hopefully meet her again~

I don't cook at all but my kids 14 and 17 years old like cooking. So I signed up to participate with my kids. At the end, I enjoyed a lot the time by learning products at the food market and having fun by cooking. Then Junghee is so nice and so interesting. It was a really pleasure. To do it again for my kids and me... Thank you Junghee

Our guide Junghee was very knowledgeable and shared interesting facts about food, ingredients and regional differences of them. Going to the market and being introduced to the ingredients is extremely helpful. The dishes we learned are Korean staple dishes that we will be able to share at home. A wonderful, cultural experience, especially when we did all the cooking right in her home!
