This was a great tour! I went with my husband and 12 year old son. Our guide was absolutely fantastic (VERY funny and knowledgeable), and it was very cool to see the lava tube. Know that the ground is often uneven, and there are stairs - a consideration if mobility is a concern or if you're planning to bring small children.

It was a fun activity that teaches you a bit about the formation of these lava tunnels. We chose the 9 am tour and that was nice because the group was almost 3x larger at 10 am. We think the experience is more fun with a small group of people. This 1-hour tour is not difficult or strenuous, so if you are a little less mobile, that's fine. Small children can do this too.

We've explored other lava tunnels in the past, but this one was by far the coolest. Lots to explore and the scenery was amazing. We were told of an extreme tour too that went even further into the cave/tunnel, but this was perfect for our two children, ages 8 and 10.
