Driving past lakes we had our first view of Mt Rainier, sunshine lighting up the end-of-summer glaciers atop the mountain. We hiked up a one mile trail, taking breaths as needed. Susan shared insights and pointed out other volcanic mountains. We walked through an old growth forest. Big tree hundreds feet tall. 6 hugs circumference. The group was wonderful too.

Full description

Start your day trip with a pickup in downtown Seattle in the morning and then drive for two hours to Mt. Rainier National Park. See all the highlights of the park throughout the day. Follow your guide to view glaciers, waterfalls, rivers, lakes, and tall trees in the forests. Take in the stunning views of the glacier-covered volcano, which towers over the surrounding mountains in the Cascade Mountain Range with its 14,410-foot height. Hike for a few hours and enjoy a picnic while taking in the panoramic views of Mt. Rainier and other mountains in the park. After a day of exploration, leave the park in the afternoon and drive back to downtown Seattle.
