Enjoy a thrilling day on an "Old Pueblo” Tucson city tour as you visit Mission San Xavier and the Sonora Desert Museum. Discover desert wildlife in their natural habitat, and drive past a vast expanse of Saguaro cacti.
What to Expect
This full-day adventure combines a visit to a working Mission with a tour of charming Tucson. You will also drive to the Saguaro National Park.
The excursion is fully customizable to suit your personal preferences and will provide a perfect introduction to a landscape that looks familiar from so many Saturday morning Westerns. Nothing, however, compares to the real thing.
Start at the Jesuit Mission San Xavier. Known as the “White Dove of the Desert,” Mission San Xavier is a must-see attraction on any visit to southern Arizona. It stands like a beautiful white wedding cake over the colorful city. Built in the late 18th-Century, it is still in use today, but welcomes visitors.
Take a stroll round the charming streets of Tucson before a drive through the desert to the magnificent Sonora Desert Museum.
Here you will discover fascinating exhibits of live animals in astonishing natural settings. Come face-to-face with Mountain Lions and Prairie Dogs as you stroll through lovely landscaped gardens. Children will delight at the Gila Monsters and aquariums containing over 10,000 fish.
The tour will last about 7 to 8 hours and includes lunch. A free hotel pick-up and drop-off from your Scottsdale hotel will take the worry out of all the day’s arrangements.
