Meet with your experienced tour guide in front of the tourist information and proceed to the Market Square. Learn more about the troubled story of the "Buttocks Parade" and have a look at the impressive Henry the Lion Monument. Afterwards see the mighty Cathedral of Schwerin, walk to the beautiful Paffenteich and discover several of most important buildings of the old town like such as the former postal office. Eventually, the tour will take you to see the magnificient Schwerin Castle located on the city's main lake, before ending at the State Museum.

The group will meet on the historic market place to start the walk to see the famous sights of Schwerin! Your watchman tour guide will share insider information as well as historical facts with you, to ensure that you are well educated about the beautiful city of Schwerin.  During this German-language tour, you will pass the Schweriner Cathedral, take a stroll down Bischofstreet and see the narrowest house in town. You will walk down the narrow alleys and streets that make up the historic heart of Schwerin. You will pass the old post office and the most beautiful castles as well as the theatre and museum. After 1.5 hours, the tour will end at the historic market place.

Red double-decker buses fill the streets of Schwerin from the end of March until New Year's. On this tour, enjoy the opportunity to get off the bus to enjoy shopping, explore different neighborhoods, and visit museums, exhibitions, and attractions. The tickets are valid for the whole day, allowing you ample time to complete on your tour of the city. The buses run every 45 minutes from May to September, and every 90 minutes during the off-season. Weather permitting, ride in an open-top double-decker bus (with a closed roof in case of rain) from the White Fleet by Schwerin Palace through the historical old town, the Schelfstadt quarter, and through the Schelfmarkt to the shore of the Pfaffenteich – incidentally one of the ten lakes in the city. Heading across the old market with its town hall and cathedral, continue on to the central station in Paulsstadt and the Feldstadt with the old cemetery, where Rudolph Karstadt and others have found their final resting place. In the castle gardens, take a break from the tour at the historical Schleifmühle and admire this unique museum and the water-powered grinding and sawing of large fieldstones. Then, head along the Schlossgartenallee with its fantastic villas and stop to take photos at the famous view of the fairytale castle. Passing by Burgsee and the 21st Century Garden, gaze from the Rudolph Karstadt house at the Old Garden with its unique building of State Archives, ministries, State Chancellery, State Theater, art gallery, and castle. From there, Lake Schwerin, the third largest inland water in Germany, opens up in front of you.

The tour starts at the main railway station, takes you via small stops to St Paul's Church, past the Pfaffenteich to the Arsenal, which was once used as accommodation for soldiers and an armoury for guns, vehicles and weapons. But in Schwerin there are not only grand buildings to marvel at. There are also numerous sculptures and fountains scattered around the city to discover and learn the stories behind them. On your way through the old town, you should also take the opportunity to enjoy the view from the tower of Schwerin Cathedral over the city and the lake landscape. Of course, the tour also takes you to the fairytale Schwerin Castle and through the castle grounds before it ends in the centre of the old town on Marienplatz. You will solve treacherous murders, crafty robberies, or shrewd kidnappings – the options are endless. Equipped with your smartphones, a case file, and a code for the arrest warrant, you and your family, friends or partner in crime begin the investigation at the scene of crime. It is up to you to decide which clues to follow first. Crime-Trails are designed for young as well as experienced hobby detectives from 12 years and up. Some Crime-Trails are suitable for younger children as well, but we are currently working on trails specifically designed for this age group. 1. Purchasing a Crime-Trail To play one of our Crime-Trails, choose one of the trails in the city of your choice. After the purchase has been completed, you will receive an e-mail with the case file along with a code to generate your arrest warrant at the end of the game. Once you have the case file, you can start the game whenever you please. The case file includes an introductions as well as instructions to your mission. Note: Print the case file for a better overview during the game! We are currently working on a completely digitalized version. 2. Locating the Scene of Crime To begin your investigation, find the location marked “scene of crime” in your case file. Once you arrive at the scene, familiarize yourselves with the case and solve the first question. Send your answer via chatbot to the headquarters to start the Crime-Trail. Information on how to send out your answers to receive more and more clues as you move through the case. Note: All Crime-Trails can be played without advance booking. It’s up to you when you want to start your investigation! It does not matter when you purchase your crime file, it does not expire. 3. Starting the Investigation After you have solved the first question and established communication with the headquarters, you can visit the locations marked on the map in any order. Throughout the Crime-Trail you will stay in touch with the headquarters in order to receive further clues that help you solve the case. We do advice that you visit all locations indicated in your file, so you do not miss any important information. There will be no guide or organizer on site. In case you have any problems or questions, you can request a hint from the headquarters. Since the Crime-Trails are played outdoors and in individual groups, they are compatible with any Covid-19 restrictions. 4. Catching the Culprit Once you have identified the culprit, you will be able to create an arrest warrant for them on our website. Use the code that you received in the e-mail together with the case file. Have you caught the right suspect?

It is a perfect place for you to take pictures with the fairytale Castle in the background. The vaulted arch bridge dates back to 1844 and spans approximately 50 meters in length. You will visit the castle known as the Schweriner Schloss, one of the most beautiful landmarks of Schwerin. Surrounded by lakes and gardens, this magnificent castle is sure to awe you. It served as a residence to the Dukes and Grand Dukes of Mecklenburg. The Castle dates back to 973 and has undergone changes with time. Walk in the gardens of the Schwerin Castle which were designed by Peter Joseph Lenné and Theodor Klett. The gardens host events such as concerts every summer while offering beautiful views of the Castle in the background. Admire the beautiful Schwerin Cathedral dating back to the 12th century. Dedicated to the Virgin Mary and Saint John. Here, you will see the Church tower which stands 117.5 meters tall and its stained glass windows. Initially, it was built in Romanesque style, however, was later rebuilt in Gothic revival style following damage to the building due to fire.

Schwerin has existed since at least 1018 and was recognized as a city in 1160. It is known for its romantic Schwerin Palace, known as the “Neuschwanstein of the North”, atop an island in Lake Schwerin. During the Middle Ages, the centre point of the town was Schwerin Cathedral, famous across Europe for having reputedly held a drop of Christ's blood. The city also has a largely intact old town, suffering only minor damage during World War II.
