Popular Tours in Schonbrunn Palace

It was great experience, the guide was very knowledgeable. However, the meeting place was mentioned to be near fountain. But the guide didn’t come there. After many phone calls the guide asked to come to different place and wait for his assistant. Assistant came after 40 minutes and asked to come inside Palace. After waiting inside Palace for 25 minutes - the guide appeared and experience was great. The guide was knowledgeable and explained well about different rooms in Palace. Also Palace security clearly said that they don’t know GetYourGuide and tickets issued by GetYourGuide are not accepted. Only the guide could let visitors go inside by issuing special green color bracelets. The bracelets have code that the scanners at Palace accept.

Very good arrangements from start to finish, and we were generally well satisfied with everything. The tour guide was very good. The tour of the castle was exceptional, but in comparison the tour of the garden amounted to little more than a walk from the castle to the fountain which we had done already whilst waiting for the guide earlier.

The tour guide accompanied us where the car for the city tour was waiting, then met us again in Schonbrunn Entrance and lead us directly inside the Palace Our city tour was on May 1, City Center was blocked by manifestations but our City Tour driver/guide did his best to show us almost all the interesting places in the list.

Guide (Eddie) was excellent, more than willing to answer extra questions and go the extra mile. As always, palace rooms were crowded, making for a too rapid (although still good) tour. Garden tour much more open, of course, and excellent history and information. “Skip the line” always helpful.

I would recommend the tour with a guide. Our guide was call Michael and he had a lot of knowledge about the palace and the inhabitants. He gave details and stories and did it all with humor. The fact that you can skip the line with the group also helps.
