Savannah: Ghosts of Christmas Past Walking Tour

8. Savannah: Ghosts of Christmas Past Walking Tour

For the last 100 years, Americans have kept ghosts in their place, letting them out only in October. It’s no coincidence that the most famous Christmas story is a ghost story. Charles Dickens’ "A Christmas Carol" was first published in 1843, and its story about a man tormented by a series of ghosts the night before Christmas belonged to a once-rich, now mostly forgotten tradition of telling ghost stories on Christmas Eve. Dickens’ supernatural yuletide terror was no outlier, since for much of the 19th century, the holiday was indisputably associated with ghosts and specters. Christmas in Savannah has always been a magical time of the year. However, for many of the less fortunate souls, the season brought tragedy and disaster. Grab a hot cup of cocoa and join in to resurrect the long-lost tradition of the telling of ghost stories during the holiday season. Walk through Savannah with your own paranormal sensitive and hear stories of holidays past.

What people are saying about Savannah

such a great time! the time was not specified however. on my virtual ticket it said 5 pm but the info on the website said meet at 7:45. i had some one contact me asking me to join the 8 pm group since there was not enough for the 5 pm group. before that, i really didn’t know what time i was supposed to meet the rest of the group. maybe that’s something that can be improved. other than that, great time. my friend and i thoroughly enjoyed.

This walking “pub crawl” tour was so much fun! #thejdeveraux was our fabulous drag queen guide. We went to 4 great bars and had a blast dancing, singing karaoke, and sometimes stopping traffic with our outrageous crowd getting all the attention prancing around like we were on a catwalk in Ellis Square. LOL! She even did a death drop and a split…in a dress y’all! If you get her as your guide ask her if she ever found Richard.

Absolutely fantastic time! Super fun evening for my friend's bachelorette party. Our queen, Miss J. Devereaux, is a superstar and did a great job making sure to attend to every group! Would definitely book this tour again.

Thank goodness for knowledgeable customer service! Totally lost in a new location, but customer service reps saved the day and ( sometimes ) helped find a meeting point step-by-step.

Hop on Hop off is always a great way to get the flavor of the city !!
