Full description
After meeting your expert guide at the Savannah Visitor Center, head straight to lunch at legendary Sandfly BBQ, a Savannah hotspot specializing in pulled pork, ribs, and brisket. Satiated by some of the best food the South has to offer, you’ll head on to a scenic drive through the Isle of Hope Historic District. Landscaped with old oak trees covered in Spanish moss, the houses range in style from Greek revival to craftsman bungalows—but above all, feel as if they were directly pulled from another century. After the drive along the bluff through the vast Georgia marshes, you’ll end up at the Wormsloe Historic Site, a former plantation known for its preserved ruins and vast, oak-lined boulevards. Through a docent-led tour of the historical grounds, learn about the history of slavery, and the role plantations played in the Civil War. Afterwards, on the way back, you’ll swing by the renowned Byrd Cookie Company for a cookie tasting—a perfect treat to bring back home.

This was by far the best tour and tour guide I have had. Dennis Morrison is the bomb, I would take another tour with him anytime. He told us stories, history, and made this tour so much fun for 5 hours! I was amazed at how much he knew and could relate in such an awesome manner. We were taken to places that were not listed on the tour, and had this been our only tour of Savannah, I would not have been disappointed. The Wormsloe and Isle of Hope are fantastic to see, I would highly recommend the tour. The cookie tasting at the end was refreshing and fun and of course Dennis told us that company's history too.

Our Tour Guide, Chris, was the best!

We ended up being the only couple on the tour. Our tour guide, Chris, was wonderful. We ended up changing restaurants as the BBQ one closed. He took us to a wonderful seafood restaurant. We then toured all around Isle of Hope and Wormsloe Plantantion as he told us a lot of the history of Savannah. It was one of the best tours we have done in Savannah. Thank you!!

Dennis was an excellent guide. He was very knowledgeable about the area and its’ history. Dennis did a great job of pointing out interesting homes & places along the way to and from the plantation.
