Full description
Meet your local guide and small tour group in Savannah's Historic District. Meander through the tranquil, elegant squares on the district's east side, you'll learn about Savannah's southern culture and rich history as you walk past many examples of the city's elegant architecture on the 1-mile (1.6 km) walk. At each of the subsequent stops, taste bites like chicken sandwiches en papillote, fried green tomatoes, and famous ice cream. Possible locations include Broughton Common, Leopold's Ice Cream, Cha bella, and B&D Burgers on Broughton. The food and conversation add up to a tour that's both gastronomically and intellectually satisfying. Your culinary exploration of Savannah ends only a few blocks from the starting location. You'll depart with a map that makes it easy to go back to your favorites later.

Cathy was an amazing guide. She blended in history of the city with some great spots to grab a bite to eat and a beverage. She was well-prepared and hat excellent knowledge of the city and great spots to stop for shade or AC when needed in the heat. The tour includes enough food for lunch and water or non-alcoholic drink at each stop. There are drinks available to purchase to enjoy along the way as well.

Wish I could give more than 5 stars for this tour! Our guide, Ms. Cindy, was FANTASTIC! You can tell this is a tour that is built on relationships that have been developed over time, and the tour itself has been curated and refined to deliver a fun, tasty experience. We tasted GREAT food at every stop, including Fancy Parker’s. Ms. Cindy has got to be the hardest working tour guide we’ve ever met - one moment she’s introducing the owner of an establishment, the next she’s behind a bar refilling water bottles, the next she’s cutting up and serving sandwiches, the next she’s literally running several blocks IN THE RAIN to pick up Leopold’s ice cream and bringing it to us so we didn’t have to go back out in the rain. Again, never have I ever seen such a hard working, energetic, fun, and oh-so-southernly-gracious tour guide as Ms. Cindy. She also shared lots of history during our tour.

Our group enjoyed the East side food tour. Our tour guide, Anne, was very informative, engaging and helpful. We had 6 adults in our group. We feel that travelers should have some input as to the food choices. We did provide our allergies in advance which was taken into consideration, however, we would prefer other options as well. For example, at one of the stops a vegetarian option was provided to a guest as they indicated a vegetarian diet. Since we had been provided with several meat options, a vegetarian option would have been preferred at the Mojito stop (spinach & feta as opposed to another chicken dish).
