Day 1: Sarlat Guided Walking Tour - Domme Village - Dordogne Boat Trip
Enjoy a morning walking tour of Sarlat, a rich 18th-century merchant town in the Périgord Noir. Marvel at the town’s 14th-century architecture and impeccably restored stone buildings. Continue to the small village of Domme for a walking tour and some free time to explore on your own. Located on a rocky outcrop overlooking the Dordogne River, the fortified town was founded as a stronghold in 1281 by Philip the Bold.

Drive to the beautiful village of La Roque Gageac, and enjoy a boat cruise on the Dordogne River. End the day in Beynac and enjoy the spectacular views of one of the most impressive medieval castles of the Dordogne. Take a walking tour of the village before some free time to explore on your own.

Day 2: Lascaux - Art of the Caves in the Dordogne
Today you will explore the prehistoric cave paintings of Lascaux. Dating back to around 15,000 BC, the cave paintings are some of the most extraordinary examples in the Dordogne area. Marvel at images of large animals, most of which are known from fossil evidence to have lived in the area at the time. Enjoy some free time in Les Eyzies, site of the National Museum of Prehistory. Take a guided tour of the museum to see artifacts from its important collections, such as a large collection of art from the Cro-Magnon.

Continue to Rouffignac Cave to see original and authentic engravings that back to the late Magdalenian. End the day at Lascaux II to see a perfect reproduction of the original cave.

Day 3: Rocamadour
Depart for the pilgrimage and fortress village of Rocamadour in the morning, and admire the dramatic setting in a gorge above a tributary of the River Dordogne. The village is renowned for its historical monuments and its sanctuary of the Blessed Virgin Mary, which has brought pilgrims from every corner of the world for centuries, among them kings, bishops, and nobles. Visit the renowned Notre Dame Chapel with your guide, and discover part of an extraordinary 13th-century chapel complex perched on a cliff. Enjoy some free time to explore on your own before your return transfer to Sarlat for an afternoon at leisure and the end of the tour services.
