Full description
Start your tour with transportation to the War Tunnel Museum. On the way (25-30 minutes) receive a short introduction to the topics of the war and see important sites and buildings with your own eyes, that you will later hear about again in the museum. Arrive at the Tunnel of Hope, learn about the position of the museum and its famous mark in front of the entrance named "Sarajevo Rose". After seeing a short movie, a one-hour long presentation starts, which will explain the fall of Yugoslavia, the war in Slovenia, Croatia, Bosnia and Herzegovina and the creation and importance of the tunnel.  After the Tunnel, head toward the 1984 Olympic mountain Trebević, which is the closest mountain to the center of Sarajevo and was part of the front line during the siege of Sarajevo. At the site, you have the opportunity to see and walk on the former bobsleigh and luge track and experience the most beautiful panoramic views of Sarajevo which unfortunately were also the main positions of the enemy army.     Just under the Trebevic Mountain lies the second largest Jewish cemetery in Europe. The cemetery contains unique shaped tombstones that can only be seen in Bosnia and Herzegovina. It is believed their shape is influenced by medieval Bosnian tombstones that are named "Stecak". Head towards the old Ottoman part of the city to visit the White and Yellow Fortresses. They both provide breath-taking views of the old part of the city. The last stop of the tour is the "Shehidi" (Martyr) cemetery, the resting place of the soldiers that gave their life for independent Bosnia and Herzegovina. In the heart of the cemetery lies the grave of the first Bosnian president Alija Izetbegovic.

Such a fascinating insight into the war in the 1990s. The Tunnel of Hope was such a fascinating feat by many who miraculously built this tunnel to assist the people of Sarajevo. Ingenious! We were also taken to the site of the Winter Olympics and the bobsledding and luge tracks. The old Jewish Cemetery made us realise the diversity of religions that make Sarajevo. To top the afternoon was the late afternoon/night view of Sarajevo from the Yellow fort.

The Under Siege tour far exceeded expectations and we highly recommend it! Eddin is an exceptional tour guide. He is incredibly knowledgeable and passionate and was able to teach us about a very difficult and complex topic. The staff was also very friendly and helpful. We were so happy with our experience we even signed up for another tour!

A must do if you visit Sarajevo. Best tour I have ever been on. This tour was an amazing experience. The guide, Eddie, was very knowledgeable, and super nice. He answered all of my questions. Unlike the other tours that I have been to in Europe, the entirety of this tour was jam packed with information regarding the Bosnia war with Serbia. The guide transported you to different areas of Sarajevo so you could experience key points in the history. It was very moving. In addition to really opening my eyes as to the full scale atrocities suffered by the Bosnian people and the heroism of the population of Sarajevo during the seige, this tour was also a great way to see the city. You even get to visit the old Olympic bobsled track with amazing views of Sarajevo (this is one area where the Serb army was encamped and had strategic positions) In addition to Eddie, the other gentleman in the office was also super nice. I highly recommend and have not one complaint.
