Overview
Visit Sarajevo and see why it’s called the “European Jerusalem.” Take a guided walk through Old Town and visit the Tunnel Museum to learn about the dark days of war. Sample local delicacies, enjoy a traditional dinner, and take in a “Bosnian Nights” show.
What to Expect
Get to know Sarajevo on a 3-day, 2-night tour that introduces you to the culture and history of this unique city. You’ll enjoy a walking tour of the historical center, a special evening performance of traditional love songs, and an afternoon tasting local delicacies. You’ll also learn about the terrible days during the war in Sarajevo.

Itinerary
Day 1
After checking in to your hotel you’ll enjoy a short walk through the historical center of Sarajevo. Learn some basic historical, geographical, and climate information and how to navigate the narrow streets of Old Town. Find out where the city’s cultural spots and nightlife hotspots are located!

The evening is reserved for a Bosnian Nights show, which is a live performance of traditional Bosnian love songs known as sevdalinka. Enjoy local drinks and sweets.

Day 2
After breakfast your guide will take you on the Times of Misfortune tour. Learn what it was like to live without food, water, electricity, or gas, how the children were schooled, and what cultural and social life was like. At the Tunnel Museum you'll pass through a section of the original tunnel and see a film about the war in Sarajevo. The guide will explain the role of the tunnel during the siege, and how it was constructed.

By this time you’ll be ready for a short Bosnian coffee break that will be an introduction to a tasty afternoon of food treats, and the Eat, Pray, Love tour.

See City Hall, the National Library, Bravadžiluk and Kazandžiluk streets, and the handicrafts that date back to the 15th century. The best part of the tour is the chance to sample local delicacies. Start out with ćevapi, which are small grilled rolls of minced beef, lamb, or a mixture of both in pita bread. Next you’ll try different kinds of pies, with the most popular being the Bosnian aphrodisiac baklava, a flaky pastry filled with nuts, and drenched in sugar syrup or honey.

Learn why Sarajevo is called the European Jerusalem and discover the line between the worlds of East and West.

Enjoy dinner at a traditional Sarajevo restaurant.
