After scheduling this tour I questioned my decision, but am so glad we kept it in our plans. We got a private tour, of sorts, as it was only our 3 family members. We ēnjoyed the interaction of the tea plantation (great tea tasting), the tasting of different water fountains, the liquor tastings and the awesome Furnas area. The 1.5 hour stop at the garden was much needed for a walk, and to see beautiful flowers and trees, after the large traditional Furnas stew for lunch. We were disappointed the thermal bath was closed for maintenance, as we had Suitland towels ready. Joaquin, our guide, was so personable and quite knowledgeable. Upon request he dropped us off downtown at a museum we wanted to see that day before it closed. Great tour and history lesson. And we saw a lot of "happy cows," too!

This was such a nice experience. I especially loved the tea factory, which had a beautiful garden and I learned how black, white and green tea come from the same plant. I was the only participant that day and Andrea, my guide, really went above and beyond to make it a special day even though it was foggy around Furnas and the hot springs in the garden there where out for maintenance. She showed me lots of great spots, was very nice to talk to and also gave me space and time to explore on my own. It was such a nice day.

I saw a lot, we were only two guests. So we took our time to look at everything and then continued on. A beautiful day with lots of impressions. Unfortunately the bath is currently being renovated, so it was not possible to bathe in the hot springs. I would happily do the trip again.

Miguel knew more about the area. The history and was fun and helpful. His English was great and he made us feel comfortable to ask questions.

Very enjoyable. Loved the hot springs! Loved the beach with the black sand and touring the bunker on the beach. A bonus to see Lagos de Fogo
