my boyfriend and I really loved this experience. the tour guide was really sweet and funny and we enjoyed hearing about the whales and dolphins living in the ocean. the whole experience had a very respectful approach to the aquatic ecosystem, which we also appreciated. the rib boat was fun to be on and gave a unique perspective to viewing the island from afar. I can definitely recommend it!

You have to be lucky to see the animals, but the team does their best so they find them. The guides were amazing, truly loved the sea and animals. We even stopped once extra to pick up trash from the water. Amazing experience, just if you are getting normally seasick then I would not recommend it for you, as it can quickly turn into your nightmare.

Full description

Begin the excursion with an introduction to cetaceans (whales and dolphins) and other marine species, their natural habitat, communication, migration, and behavioral patterns. After the briefing, board the designated boat and head out to sea. Approach the whales slowly and carefully as the naturalist guides and marine biologists on board provide commentary. Next, take a tour around the Princess Ring Islet of Vila Franca do Campo, for an up-close look at the volcano and resident wildlife. Light food is permitted on board, and a camera is essential to capture the wildlife you spot on the tour.

The meeting point is Terra Azul base, Marina of Vila Franca do Campo, 4, 9680 São Miguel, Azores Islands. From Ponta Delgada town center by auto, head east along the coast and follow the signs to Vila Franca do Campo. Once in Vila Franca do Campo, descend toward sea level and the marina where the tour operator's base and yellow boats are located, and free street parking can be found.

All in all it was an amazing experience, saw two types of dolphins and turtles and it was more than enough. Just the excitement of constantly searching for something makes it unique, the guide was excellent and shared her amazing knowledge and made a great trip an amazing trip. Important to mention as well is that these organisers really care about the wellbeing of the animals and the sea. They always made sure the animals feel safe and not stressed.
