Good overview of Santorini by water. Not a lot of options if you are not into hiking and swimming though. I didn't hike the volcano, but did swim the hot springs. Was sad we only had half an hour to do that but I get that it's port authority rules! Other than that, the trip to the island port of Thirassia is what you get and views of Fira, Oia, the volcano and Thirassia from the boat alongside guid commentary. We had Gabriel who was great. I did enjoy it and think it was overall worth the money.

Our guide, Spyros, was excellent - his commentary was informative and funny. The volcano is incredible and well worth a visit. We found the hike to be totally doable although in very hot weather I can imagine it wouldn't be very pleasant. The hot springs are cool but the 30 mins they give you is plenty as it isn't that hot. My least favorite stop was in Thirasia. You arrive into the tourist port and really the only thing to do is eat at fairly mediocre restaurants. They mentioned we could swim but it was just off the docks among the boats and the water was full of cigarette butts so that was a bit disappointing. We had brought spinach pies for lunch so the two hour stop was too long in my opinion. We really enjoyed the trip back to the main island which got us close to Oia and the coast line and was very relaxing and beautiful. We ended up getting off at the old port and rode the cable car back up which was a nice alternative to taking the bus back which had been a bit chaotic.

This was a great day out, we booked the cruise with optional Oia visit. The cruise was fantastic: very well organised, the boat had a fully stocked bar & shop, the staff spoke multiple languages and you had plenty of time at each stop. Swimming in the sea was fun as was the volcano walk, although it is a proper hike, so bring trainers (not flip flops! Alot of people didnt read the kitlist). The Oia visit was good, but felt rushed, in hindsight I'd have dedicated half a day to wander round rather than afew hours at peak time (sunset). All in all this trip is great value for money and I'd highly reccomend to couples, groups or families with older children.
