This was the best experience we did in Santorini. We are a family of 4, with 2 boys aged 10 and 12. It was worth every cent. The transportation, the fishing, the boat itself and the snorkelling was amazing. The crew of Captain Nikos, Vaggelis and Saìd were a 10/10. It was a fantastic experience. The boys caught fish and they cooked it for lunch along with lots of other beautiful food. Lots of drinks too. It was the best!!

Full description

Benefit from pick-up at your hotel by luxury minivan, and then climb aboard a traditional wooden fishing boat to set sail with captain Anthi. Learn different traditional fishing techniques from the crew as they try to catch some shrimp and octopus. Get the chance to help, or simply watch in awe. Next, drop anchor close to Red Beach, White Beach or Black Beach, known as the best fishing areas on the island. Receive your fishing rods, hooks, lures and fresh bait from the crew and watch a demonstration on how to catch a fish for yourself. Enjoy a local drink served by the crew and a fresh fish lunch. Sail back to harbor and get amazing views of the southern coastline of Santorini not visible from the land.

  • Wear shoes suitable for a fishing trip
  • Bring your swimsuit, sunscreen, a hat and a light jacket for the sea breeze
  • The boat is large and comfortable with a cabin and 5 beds, a kitchen and toilet
  • The boat sails on the south coast of Santorini. The catch is usually medium sized Rock fish and Breams. Occasionally bigger fish like Barracuda may be caught.
  • On semi private tours, the Captain will demonstrate to parents and children older than 10 how to use the bait so they can do it themselves.

This was a great activity! It was so nice to be picked up near the hotel instead of navigating directly to the port! Larry was our guide and told us about the island, many funny stories and even taught someone on our trip how to swim. Swimming in the Aegean and snorkeling to see the fish were incredible experiences! Our group didn't have a ton of luck fishing as we only caught 3, but it was fine to try. The fish lunch was delicious. We highly recommend this activity!
