Full description

Start the day with a traditional Greek coffee after meeting with a local food guide in the square of Firostefani village (next to Fira). Walk towards the famous blue-domed church of Santorini (the perfect spot for photos) followed by a sample of local mezes in a traditional tavern.

Walk towards Fira on a footpath on the caldera's edge with sea and volcano views. A glass of local beer is the perfect welcome to the capital of Santorini. Follow your guide through the historical alleyways and paths with several stops for samples of local treats, including olive oil and souvlaki.

Visit the daily market with fresh fish and vegetables. Enjoy a midday meal at a tavern with caldera views. Try the sweetest Loukoumades. Experience both the Mediterranean and Santorini sides of Greek cuisine. Meet locals, from the tavern owners to local farmers, souvlaki griller to honey producers.

My wife and I were to go on the tour together; however she wasn’’t feeling well so I went on my own. Really enjoyed listening to Manos’s knowledge of local history, my tour mates, and the tasty treats along the way. Would recommend this tour, especially at the beginning of your stay in Chania.
