Full description
Day 1: Following convenient pickup from your accommodation, head to a church dedicated to the Dormition of the Mother of God. This site is located just outside the traditional village of Akrotiri, where you begin your hiking adventure. Begin by setting off along a trail which showcases incomparable views of both sides of the island, in and out of the immense caldera for which Santorini is known. Pass through sprawling vineyards and long-deserted chapels that take you back to what life was like on this island during bygone generations. This scenic hike leads you to the idyllic beach of Mesa Pigadia, where you have time to relax, swim, and snorkel amid the area's dramatic scenery. Following that, be welcomed by a talented chef who will show you the secrets of traditional Grecian cooking. Join her for a cooking lesson throughout which you prepare a variety of lovely dishes all bursting with flavor. After enjoying a delicious homemade meal, your guides will transfer you back to your hotel. Following a relaxing 3-4 hours at your hotel, your guide will pick you up again for a 3-hour kayaking tour featuring black, white, and red beaches, as well as magnificent sea caves. Start off your sea adventure at the black beach of Mesa Pigadia and paddle off into the sunset on the coastline. Continue your tour to Kampia Beach, where you’ll enjoy a 45 minute break. Go snorkeling to discover the marine life in the crystalline waters of the Aegean Sea, including sea urchin, starfish, and even sea turtles if you’re lucky. Following that, head to a family-run taverna for a fresh fruit salad. Head back in your kayak and continue your adventure west as you approach Black Mountain and the Akrotiri Lighthouse. This is where you get to experience one of the most epic sunsets of your life, before paddling back to Mesa Pigadia to enjoy a delicious dinner dining in a traditional taverna. Once done with dinner, head back to your accommodation for the day. Day 2 On your second day, walk along the rim of the volcanic Caldera, you'll experience the breathtaking panoramic views of the Aegean Sea, the Mediterranean Islands, and whitewashed, blue-topped Cycladic chapels. Hikers across the globe dub this popular hiking trail as the world's most beautiful hike, and for good reasons. Start your epic journey with a convenient hotel pickup at around 4:00PM, taking a scenic ride with your tour guide to the old mule path that connects Santorini's capital city of Fira to the coastal village of Oia. Continue your tour passing the iconic Prophet Elias Chapel, where you take a break with your group to enjoy a picnic lunch. After lunch, get your camera ready for the Insta-worthy pictures of the views of Thirasia Island from afar as you approach Oia. Enjoy the 360-degree views of the nearby villages, seaside, and more, as you watch the sunset from the hilltop.
