Full description
Your first stop on this tour will be the lava island Nea Kameni, where you'll have the opportunity to walk up the soil path and approach the crater of the still active volcano. Then, return to the boat which will take you to the second lava island, Palea Kameni, where you'll find the amazing hot springs - the boat will make a stop about 50 meters from the opening, so you can swim in the green sulfur waters of the hot springs, wet your feet, or just enjoy the view! After the hot springs, the tour continues to Thirassia Island, which was once part of the island of Santorini before the volcano's explosion. Spend two hours on this amazing island and do some swimming, hang out on the beach, have lunch next to the sea, or explore the village of Manolas with its winding steps and traditional houses. On the way back to Athinios port where the tour ends, you'll cruise on the King Thiras yacht under Oia where the best pictures can be taken of the amazing cliffs and breathtaking scenery. Once you arrive at the port, the bus will be waiting to take you back to your hotel.

A very interesting and enjoying tour, which I would recommend to anyone who wants to understand more deeply the geological phenomena that had created Santorini, as well as the rich history of the island. Our guide was awesome- very professional with lots of knowledge that she was happy to share with us. Besides, the swimming in the water was really refreshing and Thirassia Island is a nice and calm place with good restaurants.

Overall the tour was good value for money. However we weren’t contacted by the organisers to be told when and where we would be picked up, we had to ask our hotel to call and find this out on the morning. The boat ran out of food very quickly which meant there was no food available until the third stop at around 2pm. The trek up the volcano was great and the guide was knowledgeable. The swimming at the ‘hot springs’ was an interesting experience, but the sulphurous water was slightly unpleasant and they didn’t give you much time to swim. The stop in thirassia was mostly a tourist trap to get people to spend money at the cafes. We would have liked to walk up to the town but as it was very hot and a lot of steps in a short amount of time we decided not to. The trip back on the boat was nice to see the rest of Santorini from the water. We were glad we didn’t pay to get bussed to Oia for the sunset (as you could just pay to get the bus for much cheaper and had seen the sunset elsewhere

Sightseeing and explanations of the volcano were very impressive. Swimming to the "hot" pot (25 degrees, sea almost 20 degrees we skipped. Tirassia island is nothing special, stay too long. Very nice return journey along the caldera from Oja to the old port of Fira. Pleasant: the boat wasn't overcrowded. Bus transfer worked very well.
