Full description

Your tour will begin as you are collected from your accommodation, from where you will board a coach destined for the coastal towns of Valparaiso and Viña del Mar.

Once in Valparaiso, which is a UNESCO World Heritage Site, you will embark on a panoramic tour of the port and Plaza Sotomayor (Sotomayor Square). Following your tour, you will ascend to the summit of the Concepción and Alegre Hills using traditional elevators. You will then take a break for lunch, during which time you can enjoy some Chilean cuisine at your own expense. Your next stop will be to Viña del Mar, which is known as the "Garden City" for its plethora of greenery. Towards the end of your tour, you will visit a coastal area to observe some sea lions, before traveling to your final stop, the Casablanca Valley.

There, you can sample wines at the Indomita Vineyard, before returning to Santiago in the early evening.

Our guide, Helen, is very knowledgable and generous. She didn't miss any detailed info and made us be sure of what we had to do. And she is also a good photographer. Don't hesitate to tell her to take you a picture. Also, luckily, members I was on the tour with were really wonderful. (Important point!) Overall, it's recommendable for newbie to the western city from Santiago.

Our group members were picked up at our Santiago hotels, and the the tour begin immediately with information about the coastal ranges and ocean currents on our way to Vina Del Mar. We visited the flower clock and a Moai then shifted to Valparaiso where the fish market was stunning. In addition to the fresh seafood, there were pelicans and sea lions. We toured the hills to appreciate the street art and enjoy a lunch over the ocean. A bit more walking and a funicular ride got us back to our bus. We visited Casablanca for a wine tasting consisting of two full pours rather than a number of small pours, and no real thought about letting us buy some wine -- a bit odd -- but the location was spectacular. The tour ended by being dropped at our hotel. What a lovely day!
