Full description
Begin your day with a journey back in time to the beginning of the Cuban revolution. Go back to the year 1953 and learn more about the long way that the revolutionaries, along with Fidel Castro, had to go before finally reaching their goal to promote Cuba’s unique culture and traditions.

Your first stop is at Granjita Siboney, a farmhouse on the road to Santiago close to Playa Siboney. Today it is a museum with a lot of original details. It was from here on July 26 1953 that 26 cars under the command of Fidel Castro left to attack the military barracks of Moncada. The barracks are the next stop on your tour. They are an art deco building and the symbol of the failed coup. See the bullet holes from the shootings and take a walk through the building. Learn about the attack and its consequences for Fidel Castro and the revolution.

After this historical stop, drive through the city of Santiago de Cuba and learn more information. Visit one of the most beautiful cemeteries in the world, hosting the mausoleum of José Martí and final resting place of Fidel Castro. After another ride through the city, visit the beautiful Bacardi museum, the oldest and most eclectic museum in Cuba. Founded in 1899 by the rum-magnate war hero and city mayor, Emilio Bacardí, it offers a representative collection of cultural heritage and is in an impressive colonial building in the city center.
