As a Sintra local and archaeologist, I have crafted this tour to ensure you experience the very best that Sintra has to offer within a timeframe of 3 to 4 hours. I've come up with 3 main aspects that capture the essence of Sintra: Culture and Heritage, Mountain and Nature, Coast and Ocean. In the Culture and Heritage segment of the tour, we'll delve into Sintra's fascinating history, exploring its iconic landmarks. I'll provide captivating insights and historical context that bring these sites to life. Next, we'll venture to the mountain and forest of Sintra where we will see it's lush nature and exotic beauty making several stops on our way west to the coast to admire the views. Lastly, we'll embrace the Coast and Ocean, uncovering the captivating beauty of Sintra's shoreline. We'll visit a local beach, the westenrnmost point of europe, Cabo da roca, and a typical portuguese village built on a cliff.

Head for the Pena Palace itself, one of the main residences of the Portuguese royal family during the 19th century. Admire the mixture of architectural styles and see why King Fernando II deserved the nickname of King-Artist. Enjoy the views of the Moorish Castle, a testimony to the Islamic presence in the Iberian Peninsula, built in the 9th century and conquered by the Portuguese during the formation of the Portugal Kingdom.  Take in the landscape of Sintra, a world heritage site, before heading down to the picturesque village to stroll freely through its charming streets, or taste its regional products, such as the famous travesseiros and queijadas de Sintra. Continue the tour aboard a 4WD Jeep, and enter the mountain trails where you will find gigantic trees and huge blocks of rocks, creating a magical setting. Visit the Convent of Peninha, a sacred place from which you can observe impressive views of the region's beaches and the huge rocks that make up the Sintra Magmatic Massif, a geological marvel. The tour then continues to the wild and rugged Cabo da Roca, the westernmost point of Europe, which the famous Portuguese poet Luis de Camões defined as onde a terra acaba e o mar começa: where the land ends and the sea begins. You’ll be dazzled by the views. Return to Lisbon in a comfortable air-conditioned minivan, filled with enough amazing memories to last a lifetime.

Feel the fresh air from the mountains and the splendor of the Atlantic Sea on high-end e-bikes during this adventurous trip from the Sintra Mountains to the Cascais Sea. This experience welcomes all biking skill levels to discover the natural wonders of Portugal. Start with pick up at your hotel or address in Cascais, then go to Cidadela Art District where the ride starts. Your e-bike will take you effortlessly to all the amazing sights in Cascais and Sintra thanks to its top-of-the-line Bosch motor. Begin the route from Cascais Market and up the Sintra Forest through a path that will lead you to the middle of the countryside, with sheep, horses, and local vegetable gardens. Continue up the forest to reach Peninha Convent at the top with a 360-degree-view of the region. Later, go down Guincho Beach to have lunch (cost not included) and admire the waves. The group will then go to Boca do Inferno (Portuguese for Hell's Mouth) and Cascais’ old town before heading back to where the trip started.

Once you're finished at Pena Palace, stop for lunch (not included) at a traditional Portuguese restaurant in a small village. Think fresh fish or tasty meat on the wood-fired grill, accompanied by plenty of wine. After lunch, visit the 12th-century Peninha Sanctuary and enjoy the 360-degree views of the forest, the Atlantic Ocean, Lisbon, Sintra, and Cascais. Then, cruise around in the convertible jeep to epic lookouts and secret spots other visitors can’t reach. Snap Polaroid pictures at the coast, play your own music all day long, and enjoy a tasting of Sintra’s traditional sweet pastry and Port wine.

This small group tour will take you to visit the most famous town in Portugal, a place where the traditional fishing village is also the town of the european high society. We will start by driving along the small villages in the Sintra-Cascais Natural Park, heading to Peninha Sanctuary, an unforgettable place, with a legend back to the XVI century. We will continue to the westernmost point of Continental Europe, the breath taking Cabo da Roca, with its 140 m height cliffs over the deep blue Atlantic Ocean. Taking the coastal road to Cascais, we will go through the amazing Guincho Beach and the Cresmina Dunes, a stop for coffee and for short walk through the dunes will allow to experience the place and relax in the portuguese way. The geological formation of Boca do Inferno is the write place to feel the relation of Cascais town with the ocean. Reaching Cascais town, the well known royal summer resort since end of the 19th Century and a fishing village since always, we will do a walk tour through the old town and major sights. The tour include some walk, a total of around 3km. During the tour, we will provide historical and local information, so you can learn about the places we will visit.

In the middle of the Natural Park of Serra de Sintra, this secular village is the capital of the Romantic in Portugal. Refuge of Kings, Artists and Poets Here Lord Byron wrote much of his poetry. The hike will be split in 2 areas, a 5 km hike in the Santuario da Peninha area, follow by a 1.5 km hike in the dunes of Cresmina. We will have time for small snack in Peninha Area and then for coffee break in the dunes. Both areas of hiking are inside the beautiful Sintra-Cascais Natural Park, the first part will cross different scenarios of forests, monuments and amazing views. The second part will go through the procted region of dunes with wiews over the Atlantic, the mountain and the beach. Along with the hike you will have the opportunity to learn about the local history and traditions. We will take you from Cascais Train Station to the hiking location by car/van.
