Full description
El Tatio in Kunza means "grandfather who cries". At the foot of a series of stratovolcanoes, the El Tatio geyser field is home to the largest group of geysers in the Southern Hemisphere and the third largest in the world. Located in the Andes Cordillera, north of San Pedro de Atacama, this magical place houses approximately 8% of the existing geysers in the world. Its water boils at a temperature of 86 degrees, slightly lower due to the spot's high altitude.

The water deposit lies within volcanic rock, covered by impermeable layers, and the geysers erupt when some of the faults lead hot water to the surface. The tour includes a delicious breakfast buffet and a visit to the geothermal field, where you can relax and swim in the thermal pool. Then, you'll head to the Cactus Valley, where you'll see massive cactuses at every turn — some up to 26 feet. Take in the mystical atmosphere of the Cactus Valley in the presence of cactuses that are hundreds of years old.
