Full description
Enjoy an excursion with hotel pickup in brand-new vehicles and trained guides to the amazing and unique Valle de la Luna, located 13 km from San Pedro de Atacama, and part of the Cordillera de Sal. A lunar landscape, the Valle de la Luna has been a Natural Sanctuary since 1982 and will mesmerize you with its colorful geology.

The expedition runs through caves, gigantic dunes, stone sculptures, and a valley of mountains, where you can see the sunset. The Salt Mountain, which surrounds the whole area, was an ancient lake, the bottom of which was raised and made vertical by the same movements as the terrestrial coast that created the Cordillera de los Andes.

Today, this mountain range is full of natural sculptures, different types of stratifications and colorings varied by mineral diversity. Its peculiar brown color gives the impression that you are on another planet and when it rains, the salt rises and the Cordillera turns completely white. This tour includes the sunset from the dunes with delicious finger foods and wine to relax at the end of the day. You will see the Coyote Stone, the Cordillera del Sal, the rock formation of Three Marias, the Anfiteatro, and the Valle de la Muerte viewpoint.
