Our tour continues in Teotitlán del Valle, a place famous for the production of wool rugs with artisanal and hand-woven processes. Rugs are a popular art form and are highly valued for their quality and beauty. Finally, we will visit Hierve el Agua, where we can see beautiful petrified waterfalls. To finish our tour, we will visit a mezcal distillery where you can taste a wide variety of flavors. Do not miss it!

On a full-day tour from Oaxaca, make your first stop at Tule Tree in Santa Maria del Tule, a 2,000-year-old tree that is 14 meters in diameter. Next, visit a mezcal distillery to learn about the process of making this traditional Mexican spirit and taste a variety of mezcals. Make your way to Teotitlán del Valle, where you can see the wool rugs made in the area. Then, continue to San Pablo Villa de Mitla, a town known for its archaeological ruins. Finally, head to Hierve el Agua, a set of natural rock formations that resemble waterfalls.

In the morning we will pick up our travelers, who will enjoy a pleasant trip to the petrified waterfalls of Hierve el Agua where the adventure will begin. We will begin the tour with Hierve el Agua, this beautiful place that has the famous petrified waterfalls formed thousands of years ago by the runoff of water with a high mineral content. We will continue with Mitla, the magical town that has it all. The name of Mitla derives from the Nahuatl word Mictlán and can be translated as Valley of the Dead. Famous for its facades and fretwork-shaped mosaics. Here we will make a stop to eat at a buffet restaurant where you will find typical dishes of the region. We will continue with Teotitlán del Valle, also known as "Land of the Gods" here you will learn about the culture and traditional beauty, as you will observe how the world-famous sheep wool rugs are made dyed with natural dyes obtained from plants and animals carried out through a prehispanic process. To end this fantastic tour, admire the largest tree in all of Mexico, with more than 2,000 years old, the sabino is the tree with the largest trunk diameter in the world.

We will pick you up at your Hotel to start this wondeful adventure! Hierve el Agua Let´s explore Hierve el agua early in the morning to be the first ones there, avoid the crowds and admire the beautiful views! This place has three natural pools where you can swim and also you can do a hike around the area. We will get you a local guide to explore the area due to they rule the town by traditions, we are not able to guide you inside the park. (2 hours) Mitla Site Explore the archeological site founded 100 b.c by the hand of an expert, walking around and learning about the history of the Zapotec Culture. (1 hour) Happy Hour After the first two activities you will have lunch in a traditional restaurant with different options based on Mexican and authetic Oaxacan food. There are also options for vegetarians. (1 hour and 20 min) Mezcal Distilley Time ago Mezcal was a drink served only in special celebrations like weddings and town festivales. We will visit a tradicional distillery to see how the Mezcal is made and learn about the different type of agave plants they use. Be ready to try 7 Mezcales or more! (1 hour) Teotitlán del Valle A special vistit to a native family; they welcome us at their house and workshop to see how these beautiful wool Rugs are made explaining step by step since the weaving process and the most incredible, how they still use natural dyes from plants, seeds, leaves, fruits and even an insect called Cochinilla. You will also learn about the meaning of all the symbols they weave in this beautiful textiles and what they represent for the Zapotec community. Walk among Mitla, a Mixtec-Zapotec ruin noted for the well-preserved, detailed geometric masonry. Learn first-hand why the name Mitla comes from the Nahuatl word Mictlan - the place of the underworld. Mitla, an ancient ceremonial center, includes two cross-shaped tombs, a promenade of strong stone columns, and an elevated suite of ornate rooms once occupied by the Zapotec high priest for you to learn about and explore. On your way out, take in a beautiful cactus garden growing in the archaeological park. At the gates of the ruins, shop at the local craft market hosting folk art goods.

We go for tourists to the hotel or house where they are staying in the center of the city of Oaxaca de Juárez, this service begins 30 min. before 8:00 a.m. We move to see the petrified waterfalls of Hierve el Agua, where we have 2 hours of free time. Then the beautiful archaeological zone of Mitla where we will take a tour of 40 minutes to 1 hour with a certified guide. We eat at a buffet restaurant with traditional local food. We visit Teotitlán del Valle where we will visit the house - workshop of a wool rug artisan. We visit a factory, store or palenque of mezcal to have a tasting of this traditional alcoholic beverage of the state. And finally we visit the famous tule tree located in Santa María el Tule recognized among other things for its thickness or width and years of life. At the end we move to the city and leave the tourists in their hotels.
