Things to do in San Miniato

Immerse yourself in the Tuscan countryside with 3 different experiences! We will meet in Florence, an authorised driver will take you to our farm in just 45 minutes. What will we do? 1 - Walk among country fields, ancient olive trees, and vineyards, enjoy the landscape, the plants, the explanation of our history, and an occasion to take photos in the suggestive setting. Maybe you will meet our funny domesticated pig! In September taste the grapes! 2 - Visit the cellar and taste 5 organic Tuscan wines: white and red, aged directly from the barrel, and "vin santo" a traditional sweet wine. Then you can taste olive oil, we will delight you with a short film about our mission. You have the opportunity to buy wines at cellar prices or order them to ship. 3 The last part is dedicated to making fresh pasta, with our professional chefs. They teach the secrets to making pasta like Tortelli or Ravioli! The pasta will be mixed and cooked together with that of the others, it will not be possible to do individual cooking. Of course, we will eat them together at a long table as in an Italian family. During the meal, extra wine will be served and one of our co-hosts will make sure that you can be the protagonist! There will be about 20 participants. From the 10th of March our experience has undergone a change, to improve the comfort of our guests we will provide travel in a 20-passenger minibus with a private driver, avoiding the return journey by train. The service has a cost of 20 euros per person to be paid directly to the driver by card before the return journey. For the MORNING session, you will arrive back at the meeting point at 16:30/17:00, while for the AFTERNOON session, you will arrive at 21:30/22:00.

We will explore our Sangiovese, Colorino, Trebbiano vineyards and all the native Tuscan vines that we grow every day with passion. We will walk until we arrive in our olive grove where every year we produce our extra virgin olive oil. Then we will walk through our cellar to understand all the details of the winemaking, aging, bottling and labeling process of all our production. After the first part of the visit, the most beautiful part will start: the tasting of our wines and our extra virgin olive oil. The wine tasting will be combined with our extra virgin olive oil made only with Tuscan cultivars and with a platter of cold cuts and cheeses typical of our territory. We will start with fresh white and rosé wines, continuing with the daily reds and concluding with our line of native Tuscan single grape varieties (Black Malvasia, Colorino)in total 5 wines. Different types of labels to fully express the style and character of our reality. We are in a strategic position between Florence, Pisa, Lucca, so we advise you to plan your holiday by including us in your plans… you won't regret it! Meet your professional guide and embark on a journey to the heart of Tuscany. Then, start truffle hunting with a professional and his Lagotto dog. After two hours in the woods hunting for the "Food of Kings", enjoy a memorable lunch in a local restaurant based on the fresh truffles you have found. After this experience, discover Vinci, the hometown of Renaissance polymath Leonardo da Vinci. Admire breathtaking views and explore the Medieval town. At the end of the day, visit The Borchi winery. Taste the best wine of the Chianti region before going back to Florence.

We look forward to welcoming you to our place in the countryside of San Miniato in the locality of Corazzano where you can live an amazing experience: after an introductory briefing we'll let you know our special dogs Birba and Maya and we'll go with them into the woods where you can see how they search, find and dig up the prized truffles. During the walk we explain you all the secrets about truffle world. On your retourn you will have the opportunity to taste some specialities make also with the freshly chopped truffles and a good glass of Tuscany wine. During the tasting we'll let you know how to cook truffles.
