We love getting out and experiencing the culture of a place when we travel. This cooking experience did more than that. We met up at a local market, far away from all of the tourists. We shopped for every one of the freshest ingredients, then went back to their house to prepare and eat! Not only did we learn some new techniques and experiment with newfound ingredients, we ate until there was no more room. Tania was a superb host and even shared the recipes with us!

There was a mixup about the meeting point ( who knew there were to Juanito Benito statues in Cozumel) but Tania, our cool and guide found us and we began our cooking adventure. The experience was excellent. Tania was delightful. The food was amazing. Great flavorful drinks. Fun to be in the market to get the produce and meat we needed for lunch. Very reasonable price.

The Private Cooking Class in a Family Home is an outstanding, experiential learning tour that delivers more than it promises!! You will be guided through a market learning and buying the ingredients to make an array of delicious Mexican cooking staples. Before your eyes, you will help the patient and capable Tania prepare a feast of delicious food and drinks. The little extras, like buying some different fruits just for the sake of letting you try them was such a treat! There is no scrimping here - you will definitely not leave either hungry or thirsty. Learning the traditional cooking techniques and having the individual recipes from your private cooking experience ensures that you can prepare your own Mexican fiesta for friends and family upon your return home.
