Full description

Experience Cozumel memorably with direct contact with the cute, chubby marine mammals known as manatees. At Dolphin Discovery-Cozumel, interact with and even feed these lively creatures. Go snorkeling while you're at it, and enjoy included access to Chankanaab Park. With the Manatee Encounter program, listen as your instructor gives a short briefing on how to play with the sea mammals. Get happy as the manatee swims by you so you can touch and pet it. Fear not, as the manatees are very gentle. Then move in for a close-up as it gives you a big, charming hug. Bond with your new pal as you even get to feed him. For yet more fun, visit Chankanaab Park, where you can admire the local flora and fauna and take advantage of the top-notch facilities to relax.

  • Children over 3.9 ft up to 4.6 ft must be accompanied by a paying adult (1 adult per kid)
  • Children over 3.3 ft and up to 3.9 ft must be accompanied by two paying adults (2 adults per kid)
  • Children under 3.3 ft will be considered infants
  • The use of a life jacket is required in all water programs

The manatee experience itself was amazing. I did it once with one daughter and everything ran smoothly. I came back with the other daughter and the problem was we booked the 10:00 and showed up at 9:30 as asked. They had us line up at 10:15 and then tried to usher us to a sea lion show pushing the activity back to 12:00 or later. We had to check out of our hotel at noon and catch a flight so I was a bit angry. They did squeeze us in for an 11:00 encounter after I complained not so gently. They should have told me at 9:30 that they overbooked so we could work it out. Lastly the photos are highway robbery. $40 for one, $130 for all, and that's just digital copies. Really? Talk about fleecing your customers.

We had a wonderful experience. My daughter and nephew were so excited to see and touch such a gentle animal. The pictures captured of them with the manatee are amazing and wonderful, full of joy and wonder. The family portrait was also amazing. I am so glad I found this experience on Get Your Guide. If we ever return to Cozumel we will definitely be back!
