Pilar was fabulous, very informative and pleasant, and highly professional taking care to be politically unbiased even when one member of the group tried to push her into a deeper conversation. My 17 year old son throughly enjoyed the experience and Pilar’s narrative on Spanish history. The only thing I would have liked would have been 15 mins to have a quick refreshment half way through. Stopping for the bathroom at the bus station at El Escorial was and error on this day, as the Monastery has ample toilets and really nice and clean, I have no doubt that in peak season these are very over subscribed also.
The knowledge of Christina, out guide, was exeplorary. The architecture, artwork and history of the buildings so interesting.
