This excursion was excellent! It was a great way to spend an entire day exploring the rainforest and the waterfalls, and the Biobay tour was really neat. You get really muddy during the rainforest portion, and you HAVE to go down the water slide to get back the way you came. So you will be thoroughly soaked and you should be able to swim (they have life jackets you have to wear the entire time in the rainforest. There is no real time to change because as soon as you leave the rainforest, you eat at a cute restaurant in a harbor and then straight to the kayaking where you will most likely be getting a little wet again, and after the restaurant there is no where to change back into you bathing suit. So, although wet clothes is uncomfortable, wet sneakers the entire day is even worse! So I suggest taking some water shoes or flip flops to take with you and change into after the rainforest portion. It was a very memorable and exhausting day loved every minute of it! Thanks guys!
It would have been better if the bus driver would have explained stuff better to people that were the last ones on the bus to be picked up. We made a stop and everyone got off the bus and no announcement was made what was happening. Then everyone got back on the bus and we left with no announcement of what was happening next. The cliff jumping a person should be warned that you have to leave your shoes on and if your feet hit flat to the water you can seriously injure yourself. This is what happened and I hurt my back badly.
Jami, our guide for the first half (rainforest tour) was wonderful. Nicole, who joined later was as well. The second portion (Bioluminescence bay) with kayaking team was wonderful as well, they were professional and funny. The rainforest part can get a little intense, there are moments of very steep uphill/downhill climbs but it’s doable and the river activities you get to do later on are well worth the hike.
Jamie and Janu were AMAZING guides. The rainforest tour was so fun, perfect difficulty level. The natural slide, cliff jumping, and fresh fruit were some of the best parts! The moon was too bright to really enjoy the bio bay (wear big spray!) but the guides did a good job making sure we saw some bioluminescence by brining a tarp and putting it over the group. Overall great tour!!
The trip was awesome! The only complaint I have is that they rushed the biobay. I wish we had more time there or that we were able to actually paddle around a little. But they rushed us out. The hike/ rainforest was a blast! They took care of pictures and everything!
