After a 75-minute drive from San Juan you will experience a unique adventure. Cueva Ventana is certified by the Tourism Department as only natural cave in the ecotourism program. The cave is on top of a limestone cliff in the Arecibo area.

Your bilingual interpreter will introduce you to the native flora and fauna. Take a short hike to the entrance of Cueva Ventana. Your guide will chat about the Taino culture, engravings and petroglyphs. You'll also learn about the cave's resident bat and non-poisonous giant spiders that call the cave home. Participate in a conservation project to minimize human impact on this population of sensitive animals.

At the end of the cave you’ll have a breathtaking view of the Rio Grande de Arecibo Valley. On your return, a stop is made at a local restaurant for lunch (not included in the price of the tour).

Then your tour continues to the Arecibo Observatory. Nestled in the mountains of northern Puerto Rico, the observatory is home to the world's lsecond largest radar/radio telescope. Scientists from around the world make use of the giant 1,000 foot-diameter dish to listen to the universe and monitor the Asteroides that flyby close to the Earth. You’ll have views of the huge telescope from an observation platform, where its austere metallic symmetry shimmers in dramatic contrast to the dense, green, tropical landscape.At the end of the cave you’ll have a breathtaking view of the Rio Grande de Arecibo Valley. On your return, a stop is made at a local restaurant for lunch (not included in the price of the tour).
