What people are saying about San Jose
I started out with this experience realizing it was going to take some expense and time to get to Aquiares' La Esperanza. I even considered cancelling when I realized this. I am glad I didn't! Well worth the time and expense to get to the location. We arrived in the morning to La Esperanza and we were absolutely awestruck by this home. It's over 100 years old and has been recently updated while keeping all the charm. We enjoyed a light breakfast outside overlooking the volcano and gardens. Then our education of the town, people, company and plantation commenced. At every turn, we were enamored by the people and the educational aspect of the tour. This is what tourism should be all about. We loved it. We were a private group of four of us, and we felt like we received the VIP treatment the entire time. We saw how coffee starts out from seed, learned the educational aspects of the whole process, learned how the plantation operates, visited a national historic monument church located
I was so lucky to have Gladys as my guide , In fact could hardly believe my luck . I was the only person booked on the tour , I’m an avid Birder on the last days of a mammoth Birding trip , Gladys is a biology student who’s also very interested in birds , naturally where ever you go there are birds , starting at our meeting point the National Theatre , after explaining the history of the theatre and the story behind the marble sculptures Gladys identifies the Parrakeets in The trees outside . And so it went on , such an informative tour , into a local bus up into the hills for a traditional Costa Rican lunch and a visit to the happy mask maker . A great day . Highly recommend this tour .
We did not know when booking this was a personal 1 on 1 tour with just the guide/driver and us. It was simply an incredible day! We went places and experienced real Costa Rica with Marcelo other tours simply can’t do. We had a wonderful day and experienced sights other tours don’t offer. Thumbs up to this company for what they are offering for a great price.
Ernesto, our guide, was great, organized, kept us on track, and watched for pick-pockets. The masks was the highlight. I'm glad we did the central market with this tour, because on our own we would've wandered for hours not seeing the good stuff.
We were thrilled with the tour and would definitely recommend it to our friends. Ernesto was so energetic and patient and full of pride for Costa Rica . We learned so much. Pura Vida!!
